Sousse

Sousse is one of the older cities in Tunisia.  Located 140 km south of Tunis, the city has 173.047 inhabitants. It is in the central-east of the country, on the Gulf of Hammamet, which is a part of the Mediterranean Sea. 

Its economy is based on transport equipment, processed food, olive oil, textiles and tourism. It is a popular tourist destination, particularly with Russian, Serbs, British, German and East European people. Located on the coast it has good beaches and a clear turquoise sea.
