Call for a Co-Organiser (Local Organiser) for MIC 2010 and MIC 2011
MIC is an annual international conference. Each year, the conference takes place in a different country all over the Mediterranean. In 2008, the conference takes place in Barcelona, Spain, and in 2009 we are going to Sousse in Tunisia.
We are now already looking for a local organiser for the conferences in 2010 and 2011.
The conference has three co-organisers:
· University of Primorska, Faculty of Management Koper, Slovenia,
· Euro-Mediterranean University, Slovenia and
· a local organizer – an institution from the country where the conference takes place.
From the local organiser we expect:
· to find a suitable accommodation (hotel/s) for conference participants and to make all necessary arrangements with the hotel/s,
· to find a suitable venue where the conference sessions can take place, preferably in the hotel where participants are also accommodated. If a different venue is proposed for sessions (e.g. a university), than an appropriate transport has to be organised and paid from the hotel/s to the sessions venue;
· to provide technical equipment for the conference (PCs, LCD projectors, xerox) and cover the cost of it,
· to provide 5-10 students that will help during the conference (registration office, help desk,....),
· to cover the costs of a meeting that will take place at the conference venue roughly half a year before the conference takes place (accommodation costs for 3 persons),
· to take care of the necessary security measures,
· to advertise the conference among the academic community, to help in inviting local public authorities to the conference and to help in finding sponsors for conference events (e.g. a conference dinner),
· to propose several possibilities for social events (dinner) and an excursion during the conference and help in organising them,
· to nominate a permanent contact person that will help with the local organization.
The local organiser should participate in at least two previous MIC conferences. We intend to announce the venue of the next conference during MIC and we expect to promote the venue for 2010 at MIC 2009.
The next local organiser will have to have a brief presentation of the venue 2010, 2011 for participants.
